Let’s have some fun – 6.1 and their crazy celebrations
03/07/2025

It’s the end of the schoolyear and all good things come to an end. For our last English lessons we, the pupils of 6.1 and our English teachers Mrs Hamm and Mrs Musliu, wanted to have a party. But wait … Why just one party? That’s too “normal” for us. So we decided to have seven celebrations that we presented in a kind of “speed celebrating” in our English lesson on Wednesday, 2nd July. We had crazy ideas and came up with parties such “Sponge Bob”, “Hawaiian Tropical”, “Ninjago”, “Flower”, “Japan”, “Class Olympics” and “Love Europe”.
In two lesson before the big day we worked very hard to prepare our parties. We wondered: What’s important to have a good celebration? Everybody agreed that we needed people and guests so we prepared nice invitations for our classmates and two English teachers. Then we collected our ideas on posters.
On Wednesday we were very excited. In the first ten minutes we got really busy as every group decorated a corner in the classroom according to their topic. The room looked amazing. We had flamingos, palm trees, flags, flowers, Japanese cherry blossoms, ballons and many more pieces of decoration everywhere.
Every group started their party by a short speech to welcome the guest and to inform us about the topic, the reason, dress code and so on. Then it was time for the fun part: Every group had prepared cool activities for everyone to participate. There was a “Catch the jellyfish”-game, many different quizzes, in which we could learn a lot about Europe and Japan, a dance contest or the game “hot potato”. We can’t mention all of the activities, but we had a lot of fun playing and watching.
Oh … And there was another very important part of our lesson. As every good party needs food and drinks, we had a variety of yummy snacks and pasties. We had crab crisps, pizza snacks, baklava, scones, sushi, spring rolls, and many beautiful and tasty cakes, just to mention a few. And we even had great cocktails in many different colours.
It was a great lesson and we enjoyed it very much.
